Should I wear kendogi/hakama in beginner classes

I want to start kendo and I just wanted to know if it would be better to wear pants or shorts and a shirt to a beginner class or if I should wear a kendo uniform. Not bogu armour though, just the hakama and kendogi.

Answer: Thanks for your question. Ideally and also the best is you have keikogi and hakama on the first day of training. However, many people wear comfortable wear at the first training or during a “trial” phase. If you are committed, you should wear keikogi and hakama. Just follow what your dojo tells you to do.
