Live in Japan and Train Kendo

I want to live and train in Japan. What should I do it?

Answer: Thank you for asking. You have to go to Japan first. Probably you have a few options to go to Japan.

· As a student

· Working in Japan

· Visiting kendo people in Japan as a visitor

These options are out there but many people don't know HOW to do it.

The first thing is to check with big organizations. If you're a student, check with your school. They might have an exchange program. Usually these programs are not very expensive.

If you are not a student, check with Japanese Embassy or Consulate in your area or country. Ask them what kinds of programs they have.

They have many programs for you to go to Japan. You may not be able to stay for a long time, but you can go to Japan and learn many things.

Now you can visit Japan as a visitor, and then of course you can go to dojos. If you know someone living in Japan, it would be the best but if you don't know you can probably get some connections by working as a tour guide for Japanese people in your country.

By doing so you can practice your Japanese (you should learn Japanese to live and train in Japan). And talk to them friendly and make friends with them. They may tell you that you can visit them if you go to Japan one day.

This is how one of the very famous people in the kendo world went to Japan a few times ;)

Hope this helps.
