Are students allowed to practice with bogu outside the dojo without sensei supervision? If yes, can an experienced senpai substitute?
If bogu isn't allowed outside the dojo, what else can I do to practice my hits other than just doing men/kote/dou suburi?
Thanks!
Answer: Thank you for your question. I don't really see why you cannot practice somewhere else other than your dōjō. You just need permission from wherever you are training and when you get permission from the venue, then you should be good to go.
I think you want to train extra so you can improve faster, correct? Your sempai can be your supervisor. Yes. And make sure you do what you learn from your teacher. As long as you do that, you wouldn't develop bad habits.
Hope this helps!
