Kendo-Guide.Com Newsletter, Issue #049 - Same Goal, Different Approach

Thank you for opening the newsletter.

Every single one of you must know what happened to Japan. Just heart breaking. I cannot even think of a word to describe how I am feeling.

Not being there for people of own country.

I felt this for the second time. I have two home countries.

Japan and New Zealand.

I was born in Japan and spend time until the age of 20 in Japan. I left for Christchurch and spend my early adulthood there for 6 years.

6 years may not seem that long to call a country my home country but that 6 years of my time made me who I am now.

I really am feeling powerless and hopeless.

But those who are in the middle of the crisis are feeling worse. I must stay strong and keep helping them with whatever and however I can.

Those who kindly donated to Sei Tou Ken Yu Kai (Christchurch Kendo Club), thank you very very much.

Now Japan needs our help. Red Cross seems like the best organization to make a donation to, if you are not sure which organization you should make a donation to.

I will continue to support New Zealand and Japan.

There are some announcements.

1. Kendo-Guide.Com Facebook Fan Page

The fan page has been up quite a bit but I had not told you till now.

I've been using my personal Facebook account for sharing kendo info but I decided to make a fan page dedicated completely to kendo. (Unless there are world emergencies like we've had)

Since I am still learning how we can use the page to promote the kihon-based kendo to the world and more, it is very simple now.

But please come and join us!

Mr. Tejada kindly translated English manual "Kendo Equipment Manual" into Spanish ("Manual para el equipo de Kendo").

It is available at Fukuda Budo-gu Shop.

3. Same Goal, Different Approach

There is a repot about 2011 Detroit Kendo Seminar with Koda sensei (8-dan). If you have not read it yet, here it is.
