Why apreciate Life?

by Sixto
(Guayams, Sonora, Mexico.)

I was doing mokusō when I asked myself why I should appreciate life. Suddenly in my mind I was able to watch a seed growing till a flower appear, and it hit me.

My interpretation of the image was that I should appreciate life because the POTENCIAL of life itself. You never know how that "seed" someday save your life or help you around.

Of course, it might also hurt you but the value is still there. Potential is all about. Well, of course that might or not be true but since then, I’ve changed a lot for good and all thanks to kendo.

Kendo-Guide.Com: Thank you for sharing. Kendo was derived from kenjutsu (the technique to kill), so kendo was right next to the death. Kendo is no longer practiced to kill or hurt others. And there is a word to express what you experienced.

Katsujin-ken: The sword to make others live.

Kendo should not be to kill others but make others live. Also it helps us to correct our own lives. I also thank to ancient warriors to get to this realization. We had lost many lives and kendo became katsujin-ken.
